1. The Craftsmanship of Educators | BZW LAW FIRM

During the speech segment, Managing Partner Lawyer Wu Ge of BZW Law Firm reviewed the firm’s over twenty years of exploration and its philosophy of “running the firm with talent, democracy, systems, and steady progress.” He proposed that “good teachers nurture good students, and good students孕育 a good future.” Managing Partner Wu Ge expressed that the essence of education lies in nurturing every seed of ambition. BZW Law Firm’s support for PKU stems from the belief that the outstanding faculty of PKU Law School can turn the ideal of the rule of law into reality. BZW also hopes to combine its practical experience in areas like international commercial law and cross-border dispute resolution with the academic strengths of PKU Law School to build a tripartite cultivation system integrating “theory, practice, and international perspective,” thereby helping Chinese legal talents to have a stronger voice in global governance.

2. Gratitude and Expectations | BZW LAW FIRM

PKU Law School Party Committee Secretary Mr. Tang Jinnan expressed heartfelt gratitude to BZW Law Firm. He pointed out that support from law firm resources is crucial for the development of legal education. This cooperation project holds profound significance for cultivating international legal talents who can meet the demands of globalized development and will strongly promote the role of Chinese legal talents on the international stage. Finally, Secretary Tang stated that PKU Law School will always be a solid backbone and a warm home for legal professionals, continuously pooling strength for the advancement of the rule of law.

Professor Zhang Qi of PKU Law School, in his address, highly commended BZW’s public welfare spirit and sense of responsibility. Professor Zhang Qi stated that at a time when global governance and climate change issues are receiving significant attention, the launch of the International Legal Talent Cultivation Program by PKU Law School and BZW Law Firm demonstrates the commitment of both sides to promoting the participation of Chinese legal talents in global governance. He expressed his hope that the participating students would maintain excellence amidst the trend of “lying flat,” courageously face challenges against the tide of anti-globalization, and act as “civil ambassadors” with the demeanor of the wise, the benevolent, and the courageous. By gaining international experience through studies at Oxford, they are expected to contribute substantively to the vigorous development of the nation’s rule of law.

PhD student in Environmental Law, Chu Yiyi, spoke as the student representative. She believed that this cooperation serves as a bridge connecting Chinese and Western legal wisdom, with one end rooted in the academic fertile soil of PKU and the other reaching towards cutting-edge international thinking. On behalf of all participating students, she pledged to look up to the lawyers from BZW as role models, enhance their professional skills through the program, and, in the future, let Chinese legal wisdom shine even more brightly on the stage of international governance.
