On the afternoon of April 14, 2026, the Legal Seminar on Central Asia Investment jointly organized by BZW Law Firm and Kalikova & Associate, a law firm in Kyrgyzstan (hereinafter referred to as K&A Law Firm), was held in Beijing in a hybrid format of online and offline. The conference focused on investment opportunities and legal compliance in Kyrgyzstan, providing professional guidance for Chinese enterprises to deeply cultivate the Central Asian market and helping to upgrade and improve the economic and trade cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The seminar was hosted by Lawyer Qiao Huanran, a partner of BZW Law Firm, and translated by Lv Yating.
Lawyer Qiao Huanran, a partner of BZW Law Firm and the executive director of the National Professional Committee for Foreign – related Laws, delivered the opening speech. He said that Kyrgyzstan is an important partner of China in Central Asia, with huge potential for bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation. The purpose of this conference is to help Chinese enterprises clarify investment rules, prevent legal risks and achieve a steady “going global”.
Aicholpon Alieva, the managing partner of K&A Law Firm in Kyrgyzstan and also the person in charge of the firm’s mining and exploration business, systematically interpreted the local investment and mining opportunities according to the framework of four core sectors. She introduced in detail the national conditions, economic and resource advantages of Kyrgyzstan, the achievements of bilateral diplomatic, economic, trade and investment cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan, the foreign investment access rules, investment guarantees, tax incentives and compliance key points, as well as the mining legal framework, mining right approval, industry supervision and tax system.
Magomed Saaduev, the person in charge of the energy business of K&A Law Firm, focused on the practical access key points in the construction and energy fields. He introduced that Kyrgyzstan has broad development space for renewable energy and strong supporting policies. The construction industry also ushers in development opportunities relying on population growth and infrastructure upgrading. At the same time, he gave practical tips to enterprises on the local core compliance key points.
During the Q&A session, the participating guests actively interacted. The two experts and Lawyer Qiao Huanran jointly responded to the concerns of enterprises, answering questions one by one regarding foreign investment access, labor employment, market opportunities, investment in energy and electricity, etc. The communication content was practical and efficient.
