On October 27, 2025, the “Strategic Legal Pathways for Chinese Enterprises in Dubai” webinar, co-hosted by BZW Law Firm and UAE-based Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners, was held simultaneously offline and online in Beijing and Dubai. This event marks a new phase in the strategic cooperation between the two law firms, jointly constructing a solid legal bridge for Chinese enterprises expanding into the UAE and Middle Eastern markets. The seminar was hosted by Lawyer Wu Zedong from BZW Law Firm.

Lawyer Wu Ge, Director of BZW Law Firm, first extended a warm welcome to the guests attending both online and offline. He emphasized that this in-depth exchange with Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners is a vivid practice of building the “BZW GLOBAL” network. BZW has established cooperative relationships with nearly 40 legal and professional institutions in more than 20 countries worldwide, aiming to provide clients with more direct and comprehensive services.

In his speech, Lawyer Ibrahim Al Qassim, President of Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners, introduced the vibrant business environment and stable, transparent legal system of the UAE to Chinese partners with solemn and enthusiastic remarks. He expressed sincere wishes for establishing a long-term and in-depth cooperative relationship with BZW Law Firm.

In his address, Lawyer Ma Yuguo, Partner of Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners and Director of the China Affairs Department, stated that this seminar is an important starting point for building a long-term cooperative bridge between the two firms. Taking this as a lead, he elaborated on the strategic economic ties connecting the UAE and China, and interpreted the huge opportunities brought by the synergistic effect of the “Belt and Road” Initiative for both parties.

The webinar also invited representatives from the UAE’s MBME Group to share insights. Mr. Ziad Al Farsi, Regional Director of MBME Group in Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Taymour Shawky, Chief Commercial Officer of MBME Group and President of BlackOrca Group, detailed how the group leverages its profound political and business networks and one-stop business solutions in the Middle East to help Chinese enterprises establish a presence and quickly integrate into the local markets in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other countries.

Lawyer Abdulla Al Qassim, Partner of Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners, first started from a macro perspective, outlining the overall economic environment and investment policy framework of the UAE. He systematically sorted out the three main business structures for enterprises in the UAE and detailed the policy incentives and advantages available to Chinese enterprises investing in the UAE.

Building on this, Lawyer Mohammad Al Qassim, Managing Partner of Ibrahim Alqassim & Partners, conducted an in-depth analysis focusing on the operational practices of enterprises after landing. He provided forward-looking and practical legal guidance around key links such as intellectual property protection, contract structure design and local compliance management.

Lawyer Cai Yun, Secretary-General of the National Professional Committee for the “Belt and Road” Initiative at BZW Law Firm, systematically sorted out the domestic regulatory processes for Chinese enterprises investing in the UAE. She emphasized that enterprises must complete the approval or filing procedures with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange in sequence, and strictly abide by the principle of “approval before remittance”.

Lawyer Liu Bin, Executive Committee Member of BZW Law Firm and Director of the National Professional Committee for Intellectual Property, analyzed the legal challenges in four major overseas scenarios—investment, technology, products and data—from the perspective of the entire life cycle of enterprises going global. He proposed a three-step methodology of “target country research—structure design—landing operation” to help enterprises build a compliance system from strategy to execution.

This webinar not only deepened Chinese enterprises’ understanding of the legal and business environment for investing in the UAE, but also demonstrated a comprehensive “legal + business” support ecosystem jointly built by Chinese law firms, UAE law firms and local business consulting groups.
